Scarlet Dragons collect two wins

H.S. baseball

MARTINSBURG — Central swept a doubleheader against Bellefonte in a key Mountain League showdown Tuesday in high school baseball.

The Scarlet Dragons topped the Raiders, 14-7, in the first game with the help of four hits and four RBIs from Hunter Klotz and three hits from Parker Gregg.

In the second game, Tyler Helsel made a game-saving catch in the outfield to halt what had been a four-run bottom of the seventh inning for Bellefonte in a 6-5 triumph.

Klotz had two more hits, including a double, and Paxton Kling had a double among his two hits and two RBIs for the 13-1 Scarlet Dragons. Bellefonte dropped to 7-4.

Panthers swept

THREE SPRINGS — Northern Bedford dropped a pair of close games to Southern Huntingdon in a doubleheader.

The Black Panthers lost the first game, 7-4, despite three hits from Andrew Lazor and Logan College.

In the second game, a 4-3 Rockets triumph, Cullen Lloyd had two of Northern’s three hits, and Brooks Snider doubled and scored a run.
