WINDBER — The Portage girls captured the team title at the 71st annual West Central Coaches Class 2A Meet at Windber Stadium on Friday.

Lauren Shaffer won two individual events for the Lady Mustangs, running 1:00 in the 400-meter dash and 2:23 in the 800 run.

Other winners for the Portage girls were Maddy Hudak in the javelin (112-9), Alex Chobany in the 3200 run (12:53) and Alyssa Hoberney in the high jump (4-10).

On the boys side, Portage’s Demetri Miller won the triple jump with a leap of 42-1.5.
