Central volleyball goes four before faltering

RURAL VALLEY — West Shamokin defeated Central, 25-19, 19-25, 25-12, 25-22, despite six service points and 10 kills from Zeb Wyant Monday night in high school volleyball action.

Zach Wyant added 12 assists, and Zack Gahagan recorded 10 service points as the Scarlet Dragons dropped to 9-3.

SERVICE POINTS

CENTRAL: Gahagan 10, Wright 8, Zeb Wyant 6, Weber 5.

Records: Central (9-3).

JV: Central, 25-19, 25-11.

Dragons get recogonized

The Central boys volleyball team placed four players on the Mid-State Boys Volleyball League All-Star squad on Monday.

The Scarlet Dragons, who are 9-3 this season, are represented by juniors Eli Lingenfelter, Zach Wyant, Zeb Wyant and Luke Weber.

Bishop Guilfoyle placed two players on the team, Nick Anderson and Noah Anderson, both juniors.

Also making the team were Forest Hills’ Carson Berkhimer and Austin Plummer, DuBois’ Landon Gustafson and West Shamokin’s Eric Spencer, Evan Cornish, Owen Stover, Luke Palmo and Gavin Solley.
