CC baseball cruises to win at home

EBENSBURG — Central Cambria scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to help seal its 11-3 win over Blacklick Valley Friday afternoon in high school baseball action.

Brayden Mennett led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, Dewayne Mosley had two hits and two RBIs, Will Westrick drove in two runs, Brady Sheehan delivered three hits, and Ethan Frank added two hits.

Eagles downed

TYRONE — Kadyn Crisswell hit two homers and drove in five runs to help Mount Union beat Tyrone, 12-0, in five innings in high school softball action.

Winning pitcher Karrigan Woodward struck out seven and did not walk a batter, sending Tyrone to its eighth loss in 14 games.

Altoona falls

STATE COLLEGE — The Altoona Area High School boys volleyball team fell to 1-17 with a 25-18, 25-11, 25-10 setback to State College.

Jamen McCabe had four kills for the Mountain Lions, Garrett Baumgartner delivered seven digs, and Ryan Naglowsky had five assists.

Teener League

MaLikai Shields, Robbie Maurer-Mullin and Carter McCrystal combined on a one-hitter to help unbeaten Crafted in Pennsylvania down ERA Sports, 4-2, in Altoona Teener Minor League action late Thursday at Seitz Field.

Dante LaRocco had two hits and two RBIs, and Nick Boslet added two doubles and one RBI for CIP.
