Lazor sparks Panthers to victory

LOYSBURG — Winning pitcher Andrew Lazor had two hits and scored two runs to help Northern Bedford defeat Fannett-Metal, 7-4, Tuesday afternoon in high school baseball action.

The Panthers, who led 6-0 after four innings, improved to 2-5. The Wildcats fell to 3-4.

Logan College drove in three runs for the Black Panthers, and Eli Cherry had two RBIs.

Altoona loses

Cumberland Valley broke open a close game by scoring six runs in the top of the seventh inning and went on to defeat Altoona, 9-2, at Mansion Park.

Gerald Crispino delivered a two-run triple in the top of the fifth to tie the game and eventually scored the go-ahead run later in the inning. Brady Grimes added two hits and two RBIs while picking up the save for Cumberland Valley.

Trevor Manley had two hits and an RBI, while Evan Alwine threw four scoreless innings for Altoona.
