Lady Eagles nip Bellwood-Antis; CC prevails

H.S. softball

TYRONE — Tyrone scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Bellwood-Antis did not respond in a 7-6 triumph for the Lady Eagles Saturday in high school softball.

Beth Pearson homered and drove in three runs for Tyrone, and Maci Brodzina and Ella Pearson each had a double.

Attie Poorman drove in four runs for the Lady Devils, and Jaidyn McCracken tripled.

Devils win late

EBENSBURG — Central Cambria pitcher Kami Kamzik struck out 19 while tossing a complete-game shutout and allowed just Lacie Lazendorfer’s double in a 4-0 victory over Northern Cambria.

The Lady Devils scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie.

Glendale drops two

PINE GROVE — Glendale lost a pair of games, 8-1 to Shikellamy, and 6-2 to Lake Lehman despite some multiple-hit performances in both games.

Lilley Vereshack was 2-for-4 against Shikellamy, and Kyla Campbell had three hits and Chloe McElheny two and an RBI against Lake Lehman.
