Heights takes care of rivals

PATTON — Arianna Westrick went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, Paige Jones had three hits, including two doubles, and Cambria Heights topped Northern Cambria, 9-3, Tuesday afternoon in high school softball action.

Jenna Serafin struck out seven in five innings of work for the Lady Highlanders, who improved to 8-1.

Kenzie Formeck homered and drove in two runs for the Lady Colts (4-6), who trailed, 3-1, after three innings.

Portage wins two

JOHNSTOWN — Portage picked up a pair of 15-0 victories in a doubleheader sweep of Ferndale.

Lauren Shaffer homered and doubled in the first game and tripled in the second game. Lexi Slanoc also hit a home run for the 10-3 Lady Mustangs in the second game.
