C-K wins close one against NB

CLAYSBURG — Corey Chamberlain tossed a complete-game seven-hitter, striking out nine and walking just one in leading Claysburg-Kimmel to a 2-1 win over Northern Bedford in high school baseball action Friday.

Tough-luck losing pitcher Andrew Lazor gave up eight hits, struck out five and walked only two.

The Bulldogs, who trailed 1-0 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, got two hits and an RBI from Dante Francona to go with two hits each from Preston Bush and Braydale Bauman.

Logan College had three hits for Northern, which dropped to 0-4 this season.
