From Mirror reports

A young Hollidaysburg skier is making a name for herself.

Frankstown Elementary School student Ella McKnight, 9, races in the U10 category within the Pennsylvania Regional Alpine Race Association.

The association is part of the Western PA Ski Club based at Seven Springs.

McKnight swept this year’s race calendar, taking first place in all four of her eligible races.

The races included Baer Automotive, Willis Ski Shop Challenge, Vector Security Western Regional Finals and Taylor Made Deep Creek.

McKnight, who began skiing at Seven Springs as a toddler, also consistently placed in the top 10 in the overall age groups, including the U12 and U14 field.

Three years ago, at age 6, McKnight was invited and raced in the NASTAR national championships in Squaw Valley California, where she placed fifth overall in her age group.

She is going back this year ranked sixth overall in the country to compete in the age 8-9 Platinum division, the highest medal category.

The national championships take place at Aspen/Snowmass on April 8.
