BG, AAHS, Hollidaysburg get 2 each

Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic placed two players on the District 6 Class 1A All-Star Girls Volleyball First Team, which was released recently.

BG seniors Lyzee Wilson and Teresa Haigh were joined by Glendale senior Olivia Reese and Bishop Carroll Catholic senior Ellie Long on the 12-player first team.

Other first-teamers were West Branch’s Taylor Myers, Morgan Glace and Ella Miller, West Shamokin’s Abigal Oesterling, Lexie Young and Maddie McConnell, Bishop McCort’s Ally Diamond and Homer-Center’s Marlee Kochman.

Claysbug-Kimmel senior Harleigh Cavender made the second team, along with Bellwood-Antis senior Raven Criscitello, Bishop Carroll junior Tia Bradley, Glendale junior Kyla Campbell and Juniata Valley seniors Emma Musser and Olivia Smith. Other second-teamers were West Shamokin’s Sophie Fusaro, West Branch’s Emma Morlock, Homer-Center’s Mya Fatula and Purchase Line’s Brooke Eyler.

Among honorable mention picks were BG’s Jaedyn Montler and Abby Yahner, Glendale’s Hanna Noel, Claysburg’s Emalee Cavender and Portage’s Kayley Sossong.

Class 3A and 4A stars

Hollidaysburg and Altoona each placed two players on the District 6 Class 3A and 4A All-Star Girls Volleyball Team, respectively.

Hollidaysburg senior Isabella George and junior Brittyn Davenport made the Class 3A team, and Altoona seniors Julia Savino and Andrea Kiser were on the Class 4A team.

Joining George and Davenport on the 3A team were Bellefonte’s Carlee Peppeman, Alexia Mishock and Makenna Port, and Johnstown’s Ashley Eckenrode and Courtney Rummel.

Others making the Class 4A team were State College’s Kacy Sekunda, Vanessa McGhee, Claire Jordan and Ariana Angus, along with Central Mountain’s Loni Duck and Evie Rembold.
