Sherlock’s win leads Lady Panthers to two victories

MOUNT UNION — The Northern Bedford girls picked up two wins — 16-20 over Williamsburg and 25-30 over Mount Union — in a triangular high school cross country meet on Thursday.

Emilee Sherlock led the Lady Panthers with a first-place finish, and Harley Socie was third and Hailey Bollman fourth.

Kelsie Butler finished second for the Williamsburg girls, who beat Mount Union, 22-33.

Connor Laird and Ian Zimmerman finished 1-2 in the boys race to help Northern Bedford beat Mount Union, 24-31, and Williamsburg 17-38.

Williamsburg lost to Mount Union, 15-46.

Central boys go 1-1

PHILIPSBURG — The Central boys went 1-1, beating Philipsburg-Osceola, 25-34, but falling to Bellefonte, 16-45, in cross country action.

Tyler Biesinger was Central’s top finisher, placing seventh.

The Bellefonte boys beat P-O, 19-42, and the Bellefonte girls topped P-O, 17-45, and Central, 15-50. The P-O girls beat Central, 15-50.

Lady Tigers top Tyrone

TYRONE — Megan Ferris and Rachel Gallagher won singles matches and combined for a doubles win in Hollidaysburg’s 7-0 victory over Tyrone in girls tennis.

Gretta Rhodes, Ella Jodon and Regan McKee won singles matches for the Lady Tigers, and Erin Cummings and Nina Meadows won a doubles match.

Portage falters

CRESSON — Conemaugh Township finished the season with a 13-0 record after a 228-244 win over Portage in boys golf action.

Ethan Dyche led Portage with a 44.

Stitt ties for medalist

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Hollidaysburg’s Ashden Stitt tied Clearfield’s Christina McGinnis for medalist honors in a quadrangular girls golf match at Scotch Valley on Wednesday.

Stitt and McGinnis each shot a 46.

HOLLIDAYSBURG (146): Stitt 46, Bihary 49, Kennedy 51, Sargent 60, Crone 72.
