Panther boys come away with 2 wins

CRESSON — The Penn Cambria boys picked up two wins, defeating Somerset, 27-31, and Bedford, 20-43, in high school cross country action on Wednesday.

The Somerset boys beat Bedford, 20-35. Bedford’s Nate Scritchfield won the boys race, and PC’s Logan Michina finished second.

The Bedford girls topped Penn Cambria, 15-49, and Somerset, 15-50, while the PC girls edged Somerset, 21-34. Bedford’s Meah Eshelman led a one-through-six finish for the Lady Bisons.

Heights goes 2-1

SIDMAN — The Cambria Heights boys beat Bishop Guilfoyle, 15-48 and Bishop Carroll, 15-50, but fell to Forest Hills, 19-39.

Brock Eckenrode of Heights finishes fifth. The BG boys also lost to Forest Hills, 15-50, and Chestnut Ridge, 18-37.

The Heights girls beat BG, 15-50, but lost to Ridge, 22-33, and Forest Hills, 16-47. Maggie McMullen finished sixth in 21:20 for Heights.

BG top runners were Conner Ratchford (21:13) and Jaden Quinn (25:06).

Robison leads B-A

BELLWOOD — The Bellwood-Antis boys picked up wins over Juniata Valley (23-32) and West Branch (24-31).

Kenny Robison led the Blue Devils with a first-place finish, and Christian Sensibaugh placed fourth.

The JV boys lost to West Branch, 25-31.

The Bellwood girls beat West Branch, 25-33, but fell to Valley, 15-50. Valley also topped West Branch, 18-33.

Valley’s Morgan Hess and Katie Dyreson finished 1-2 in the girls race.

Chobany wins race

PORTAGE — Portage’s Alex Chobany won the girls race in a meet with Windber, West Shamokin, United and North Star.

The Portage teams did not score. Josh Canavan of the Mustangs finished second in the boys race.
