Marasco wins title for Guilfoyle

High school digest

SALIX — AJ Marasco and Bishop Guilfoyle were crowned champions at the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference Boys Golf Championships on Wednesday at Windber Country Club.

Marasco was the top individual finisher after shooting a 75. He was followed by Bishop McCort’s Luke Cascino (79), Bedford’s Matt Edwards (80), Penn Cambria’s Brodie Vinglish (81) and McCort’s Ian Verhosek (82).

BG was crowned the conference champion by completing the season with a 10-0 mark.

BG’s Ayden Craine scored a hole-in-one on the 170-yard, par-3 No. 15 hole while using a 5-iron.

Lady Tigers prevail

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Hollidaysburg defeated Huntingdon, 25-16, 25-18, 25-20, behind nine service points and 11 kills from Joelle DeLattre in girls high school volleyball action Wednesday night.

Brittyn Davenport had 10 kills, and Lexi McLanahan added 25 digs.

With the win, the Lady Tigers improved their record to 6-4 this season.

HOLLIDAYSBURG: DeLattre 9, Pupa 4, McLanahan 3, Everett 3, Keagy 3, Lear 1.

Team records: Hollidaysburg (6-4).

JV: Hollidaysburg, 2-0.

n Everett defeated Tussey Mountain 25-17, 25-14, 25-10 in volleyball behind MJ Kline, Karly Schiffel, Karlee Horton and Cara Benton.

n The Altoona junior high team topped Park Forest, 25-14, 25-22. In the B game, Altoona won, 25-10, 25-15.
