Hoy, Manfred garner B-H crowns

Tyrone Area’s Garin Hoy and Grier School’s Edith Manfred won the boys and girls races in the Blair-Huntingdon Day meet in high school cross country action on Monday at the Logan Elementary School course.

Hoy, a senior, topped the boys field with a time of 17 minutes, 47 seconds. He was followed by seven Altoona runners — Aydan Summers, George Boutiller, Gabe Ebersole, Aidan Kelley, Braeden Ferguson, Aiden Farabaugh and Andrew Donlan. Bellwood-Antis’ Kenny Robison was ninth.

Manfred finished with a time of 20:19.60 to win the girls race by more than 30 seconds over second-place finisher Morgan Hess of Juniata Valley. Altoona’s Mackenzie Kelley was third, followed by Tyrone’s Beth Pearson and Altoona’s Reese Wilber.

Hollidaysburg seventh grader Isaac Watt won the middle school boys race with an 8:55, and another Hollidaysburg seventh grader, Nora Stanek, won the middle school girls race with a 9:56.
