Doubles final set in D6

Central Cambria High School senior Olivia Ratchford will be trying to win her fourth District 6 Class 2A doubles tennis championship today.

Ratchford and Corinne Markovich, the top seed, will face third-seeded Victoria Reese and Rachel Stricek of Tyrone in the final at 10 a.m. today at the Herb Faris courts at Mansion Park.

Ratchford and Markovich won two matches on Friday, beating Forest Hills’ Gracie Ray and Neveah Rivera in the quarterfinals, 6-0, 6-0, and Bishop Guilfoyle’s Erin Talko and Julia Runk in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-1.

Reese and Stricek beat BG’s Madison Hooper and Marissa Hooper, 6-3, 6-2, Central Cambria’s Andie McCullough and Ella Persio, 6-3, 6-2, and Forest Hills’ Macie Poborski and Elizabeth Dobbins, 7-5, 6-3.

Also today at 10 a.m., Hollidaysburg’s Gretta Rhodes and Ella Jodon will face State College’s Quiana Guo and Catelyn Janac in the District 4-6 3A final at

10 a.m. at Mansion.

Dull nets hat trick

HUNTINGDON — Davis Dull scored three goals for Blair County Christian in a 6-0 shutout of Calvary Christian Friday in high school boys soccer action.

Joel Nicodemus added a goal and three assists for the Bobcats, which remain undefeated at 12-0. Kort Sease also scored once and had two assists.

BCC girls prevail

HUNTINGDON — Blair Christian clinched first place in the Allegheny Christian Athletic Association West division with an 8-1 win over Calvary Christian Friday in high school girls soccer action.

Madison Snyder scored four goals in the win for the Lady Bobcats. Sarah McCoy had two goals and two assists while Annelise Johnston scored one goal and had two assists.
