BG wins, will move on to LHAC championship

Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic knocked off Bishop Carroll Catholic, 25-23, 25-20, 25-15, at the Pleasant Valley gym to improve its record to 11-2 in high school girls volleyball on Tuesday.

Lyzee Wilson collected 11 kills, 14 digs and 11 service points for the Lady Marauders, Lia Simanski had 40 digs, 10 kills and seven service points, and Jaedyn Montler added 31 digs.

BG will play in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference championship match on Thursday against an opponent to be determined at Bishop Carroll High School in Ebensburg.

Altoona falls in four

Altoona won the first set but ended up losing to Chambersburg, 23-25, 25-22, 30-28, 25-17 at the AAHS Fieldhouse.

Andrea Kiser led the Lady Lions with 23 kills, Jaylyn Long collected 35 assists, Anna Batrus contributed 24 digs and 14 service points, and MJ White added four blocks.

Tyrone sweeps

HUNTINGDON — Tyrone improved its record to 9-8 with a 25-12, 25-13, 25-17 win over Huntingdon.

Makenna Bauer delivered 11 kills and five digs, Reagan Irons had eights kills and seven digs, Maecy Tuskovich had 12 digs and 12 service points, and Courtney Williams added eight kills.
