Bell family contributes for Lady Tigers in win

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Alyssa Bell scored two goals, and Abby Bell scored one to help the Hollidaysburg girls blank Tyrone, 3-0, in high school girls soccer action on Thursday.

Hollidaysburg improved to 8-3, and Tyrone fell to 6-8-1.

BG girls dominate

The Bishop Guilfoyle girls finished the regular season at 13-1, thanks to a 6-2 win over Somerset at Tom Irwin Field.

Aurielle Brunner had a hat trick to go with two goals from Lainey Farabaugh and a goal and two assists from Dani Scipioni.

The Lady Marauders are the No. 1 seed and will host a semifinal game next Wednesday in the District 6 Class 1A playoffs.

CRESSON — Emma Farabaugh scored in the first half, and the Penn Cambria girls hung on for a 1-0 win over Central Cambria on senior night.

Lady Panthers keeper Adanya Zunich earned her second shutout in a row with six saves.

Roberts lifts CC

EBENSBURG — Corey Roberts scored the lone goal of the game on an assist from Adam McGlynn to give the Central Cambria boys a 1-0 win over Penn Cambria.

Keeper Ethan Kubat earned the shutout for the Devils, who finished the regular season at 13-2 and earned the top seed for the upcoming District 6 Class 2A tournament for the first time in school history.

PATTON — The Cambria Heights boys scored two first-half goals and held on for a 2-1 win over Chestnut Ridge.

Dylan Fyock and Luke Lamb scored goals for Heights, and Jack Moyer scored one for Ridge.
