McALLISTERVILLE — The Altoona Area High School boys soccer team improved to 4-1 Saturday, thanks to a 1-0 win at East Juniata.

Austin Kravetz scored the lone goal at the 67:05 mark on a header from a ball played by Graham Black.

Keeper Brennen Dugan got the shutout for the Mountain Lions.

Tyrone beaten

TYRONE– The Tyrone girls soccer team fell to 4-3-1 after a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Penns Valley.

The Lady Eagles, who had a 1-0 lead in the second half, got their only goal from Eliza Vance at the 53:32 mark on an assist from teammate Sophia Nelson.

Katie Martell scored the game-winner at the 89:54 mark of the second overtime. Nicole Denger scored the Lady Rams’ (8-1) first goal.

Altoona boys 7th

WHITE OAK — The Altoona Area High School boys cross country team finished seventh among 18 Class 3A teams at the Bald Eagle Invitational hosted by Baldwin High School at White Oak Park.

Altoona was led by Jack Hatch, who finished 14th overall with a time of 16 minutes, 49 seconds, and Gabe Ebersole, who was 24th with a 16:58.

The Altoona girls were 17th with Mackenzie Kelley finishing 62nd in a time of 21:33.77.

The Altona junior varsity boys were seventh with Pat Webster and Alex Lieb placing in the top 25.

STATE COLLEGE — The Hollidaysburg girls volleyball team fell to 5-4, thanks to a 25-18, 25-9, 25-14 loss at State College.
