Tyrone, PC moving on

WINDBER — Penn Cambria and Tyrone finished second and fourth, respectively, to advance to next week’s District 6 Class 2A golf championship after play in the sectionals at Windber Country Club on Thursday.

Gregory Caldwell led Penn Cambria with a 78 to place him third overall individually. Brodie O’Donnell had an 82, Thomas Weakland shot an 86, and Nathan Little had an 87.

Tyrone was led by Jake Taylor’s 84, R.J. Royer’s 85 and Luke Brooks’ 87.

Other individuals from the area to advance to districts include Bishop Guilfoyle’s AJ Marasco and Kyle Goss, Central’s Nick Baum, Jonah Snowberger and Jerry Brumbaugh and Central Cambria’s Ian Mulligan.

PC girls beaten

CRESSON — Alyssa Mostick medaled with a 48, but the Penn Cambria girls lost to Westmont Hilltop, 147-154.
