Panthers get win over rivals

CRESSON — Penn Cambria defeated Cambria Heights 25-23, 25-21, 25-23, in high school girls volleyball action on Thursday.

Chloe Guzic had 29 assists for the Lady Panthers to go with seven kills from Liv Papi and 12 digs from Catrina Crynock.

Heights got 23 assists from Shaylee Packard, 13 digs from Amber Farabaugh and 10 kills from Kendall Conrad.

Haigh has banner night

Senior Teresa Haigh reached 500 kills for her career in a 25-23, 25-19, 25-20 win for Bishop Guilfoyle over Central Cambria on senior night at the Pleasant Valley gymn.

Haigh finished with 17 kills and 10 digs. Lyzee Wilson had 15 kills, and Abby Yahner contributed 48 assists.

Leah Burggrat had 15 assists, and Deanne Long had 14 digs for Central Cambria.

Lydia Worthing had 19 kills for Bellwood, and Miranda Tornatore had 23 assists.

Central falls

HUNTINGDON — Huntingdon downed Central, 22-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-23.

Brinley Bowers had 24 assists, and Brooke Claar had nine kills for Central.
