Lady Eagles open season with victory

TYRONE — Tyrone swept Clearfield, 25-14, 25-14, 25-14, with the help of 11 kills, two aces and three digs from Makenna Bauer in girls high school volleyball action Monday night.

Elaina Gehlman had nine aces, four kills and two blocks for the Lady Eagles.

Glendale wins

CURWENSVILLE — Glendale defeated Curwensville, 25-15, 21-25, 25-9, 25-14 behind 19 kills, 11 service point, including seven aces, from Olivia Reese and 15 kills and five blocks from Kyla Campbell.

Hanna Noel compiled a team-high 19 service points for the Lady Vikings.

Lady Pirates sweep

WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg swept Northern Bedford, 25-15, 25-12, 26-24 despite 11 service points from the Lady Panthers’ Lily Lemin. Jenna Carberry added 12 digs for NBC.

Williamsburg’s statistics were not reported to the Mirror.

JV: Northern Bedford, 2-1.

Portage rallies

PORTAGE — After dropping the first set, 25-11, Portage rallied past Claysburg-Kimmel to win the next three, 25-15, 25-18, 25-20.

Kayley Sossong had 19 assists and three aces, Keira Sisson had 27 digs and Bella Single finished with 26 service points and nine aces for the Lady Mustangs.

Lady Tigers win

SPRING MILLS — Hollidaysburg overcame losses in the first two sets to win at Penns Valley, 14-25, 17-25, 25-23, 26-24, 15-10.

The Lady Tigers got 22 digs from Alexis McLanahan. Isabella George, Joelle DeLattre and Bridgett Everett each had seven kills for Hollidaysburg.
