PSU Altoona women cruise on the road
ALFRED, N.Y. — The Penn State Altoona women’s basketball team improved to 9-5 overall with a 77-51 win over Alfred State in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup Monday.
The Lady Lions (AMCC 7-3) got a season-high 21 points from Sydney Snyder to go with 15 points from Alexis Cannistraci. Teammate Kaley Strittmatter added 14 points
Lady Mounties come back
CRESSON — Despite falling behind 20-10 in the first quarter, the Mount Aloysius women’s basketball team came back to beat Medaille, 58-43, Monday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game.
The Lady Mounties (4-12, 3-8 AMCC) got 14 points and seven rebounds from Rachel Robinson.
Lea Sammarco added nine points for the Mount, which outscore Medaille, 35-11 in the second half.
Lions have big second half
ALFRED, N.Y. — The Penn State Altoona men’s basketball team outscored Alfred State 42-25 in the second half Monday en route to a 77-66 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory.
Andruw Harman’s 20 points were tops for the Lions (10-4, 6-4 AMCC), who trailed, 41-35, at halftime. Austin Krise added 17 points to go with 16 points from Robbie Hicks.
Christian sparks Mount men
CRESSON — Nate Christian led a balanced attack with 22 points Monday as the Mount Aloysius men’s basketball beat Medaille, 70-62, in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference game.
Carlos Palacio added 18 points for the Mount (9-7, 6-5 AMCC), which led, 33-30, at halftime. Julian Stover contributed 11 points for the Mounties.
