Notes: LIU was picked to win the NEC, while the Red Flash were picked third in the preseason, and both teams still have hopes of capturing the league title. … Saint Francis is coming off a 72-55 home loss to Merrimack and played without leading scorer Isaiah Blackmon and sixth man Tyler Stewart, both suspended for their role in a postgame fight last week. Both players will be back for this game. … The Flash had won five in a row and 10 of 11 before losing that game. … LIU had won four in a row before falling its last time out at Wagner. The Sharks shoot a lot of 3-pointers and are very dangerous when they’re making them. They are led by NEC preseason player of the year Raiquan Clark, who averages 19.8 points per game. … LIU is favored by 1 point.
Mirror prediction: Saint Francis 82, LIU 78
Comment: It will be tough to win this difficult road game against a solid team, but I’m going to give the Flash the nod. They’ve been through a lot over the past week with the suspensions and a home loss, so look for this experienced group to put together a good bounce-back game with the return of Blackmon and Stewart.
Mirror prediction record: 14-4

Game notes: Penn State is 33-14 overall agains the Lady Hoosiers and 19-3 at home, but enter today losers of three straight, including two of the top three teams in the Big Ten (Northwestern and Rutgers). They are 1-4 in the last five meetings with Indiana … The Lady Hoosiers, despite their national ranking, are also looking for a win after dropping three straight games in league after opening 4-0. … Indiana ranks second in the Big Ten in scoring margin (+16.9), field goal percentage (48 percent), and field goal percentage defense (35.5 percent) while leading the league in defensive rebounds (28.6 per game) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (24.8 percent).
Mirror prediction: Indiana 75, Penn State 60
Comment: Another tough test for the Lady Lions at home. One team will end a three-game skid, and that team is likely not going to be Penn State.
Mirror prediction record: 12-6
