Mounties moving on to state team tourney

ROARING SPRING — Philipsburg-Osceola punched its ticket to the state team golf championships Wednesday with a 325-332 win over Rockwood at the District 5-6 subregional tournament at Iron Masters Country Club.

Senior Ky Bender led the Mounties with a low score of 80, and classmates Keegan Soltis and Brandon Singer each shot 81s to help lead the Mounties. Chad Frank shot an 83.

Rockwood was led by Vileksa Gelpi, who led the field with a 78.

PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA (325): Bender 80, Soltis 81, Singer 81, Frank 83, Vaux 89.

ROCKWOOD (332): Gelpi 78, Atchison 80, Bouras 84, Judy 90, Bluebaugh 94.

Lady Bisons rally

BEDFORD — Riley Stahlman had 21 kills and six aces as Bedford came back from two sets down to top Penn Cambria, 25-27, 18-25, 25-16, 25-24, 15-8 in high school girls volleyball action Wednesday.

Natalie Lippincott had 11 kills for the Lady Bisons, Racquel Imler hd 19 assists, and Hannah Lafferty had 16 digs and 13 service points.


BEDFORD: Imler 7, Black 8, Cooper 3, Stahlman 10, Lippincott 10, Tracy 9, Lafferty 13.

Records: Bedford (6-8).

JV: Bedford, 21-25, 25-23, 18-16.

Everett sweeps NBC

EVERETT — Everett volleyball notched a 3-0 sweep of Northern Bedford. Everett’s junior varsity team also defeated Northern Bedford, 2-0.
