Lady Colts pick up 11th win of season

LORETTO — Northern Cambria improved to 11-1 with a sweep of Bishop Guilfoyle at Saint Francis University Saturday in high school girls volleyball.

The Lady Colts topped BG, 25-21, 25-6, 25-18.

Lyzee Wilson led BG (9-6) with 15 kills, while Emily Kasun added 23 assists and 10 digs.

Raven Criscitello recorded nine digs for Guilfoyle, while Teresa Haigh and Jaedyn Montler each added eight digs.


BISHOP GUILFOYLE: Haigh 6, E. Yahner 4, Kasun 4, Kilmartin 3, A. Yahner 2, Wilson 1.

Records: Bishop Guilfoyle (9-6); Northern Cambria (11-1).

Altoona takes fifth

GREENSBURG — The Altoona Area High School girls volleyball team finished fifth out of 10 teams with a 2-7 record in the Greensburg-Salem Tournament on Saturday.

Altoona split with Laurel Highlands, 18-25, 25-21, lost to Latrobe, 25-17, 25-23, and Connellesville, 25-18, 25-18, and split with Greensburg-Salem, 25-20, 24-25.

In the quarterfinals, Altoona fell to North Hills, 27-25.

Andrea Kiser led Altoona with 19 kills, Julia Savino had 39 digs, Anna Batrus had 33 digs, Jaylyn Long delivered 40 assists, Jadeyn Price had two blocks, and Rylee Albright added four aces.
