Golfers struggle at states

YORK — It was a tough day for golfers in the Mirror’s coverage area at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in the high school boys golf PIAA Championships Monday.

Philipsburg-Osceola senior Brandon Singer had the best day of the three players competing for the PIAA Class 2A boys individual title, carding a 13-over par 84. Singer is currently in a tie for 24th place in the 36-man field.

Bedford’s Jared Turner shot 20-over par for a score of 91 and is 34th, and P-O’s Chad Frank, who was 12-over after just six holes, shot a 94 and is 36th.

Hickory’s Cam Colbert, Brandwine Heights’ Elijah Rupert and Riverside’s Skyler Fox are tied for first place at 1-over par.

Everett wins title

EVERETT — Everett’s girls soccer team defeated West Branch, 4-0, to win the Inter-County Conference title. No information was reported to the Mirror.

Lady Lions blank Colts

FISHERTOWN — Malia Crouse and Kyra Pittman scored goals to help Chestnut Ridge close out the regular season with a victory over Northern Cambria in high school girls soccer.

Northern Bedford cruises

SAXTON — Abby Kline scored a goal and had an assist as Northern Bedford shut out Tussey Mountain in high school girls soccer.

Aylisa Morral, Makayla Hall, Emily Heck and Taylor Nycum also scored.
