CC’s Szpala reaches milestone in victory

EBENSBURG — Kiersten Szpala recorded her 1,000th career assist for Central Cambria (17-0) with 44 total in Central Cambria’s 19-25, 17-25, 26-25, 25-13, 15-13 win over Bishop Carroll in high school girls volleyball action Tuesday night.

Maggie Kudlawiec had 18 kills and 24 digs for the Lady Devils, while Cass Bezek had a team-high 31 digs and Liz Bopp had 12 blocks and 18 kills.

Mara Yahner had 29 kills and four blocks for the Lady Huskies and Sara Muriceak had 40 assists, 21 digs and Mia Wyland.

Conrad leads Heights

PATTON — Cambria Heights honored five seniors in its 25-19, 25-14, 25-14 win over Bedford in Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference action.

Kendall Conrad led the Lady Highlanders with nine service points. The five seniors honored for Heights were Emily Henry, Nikki McCombie, Bella Stanko, Brenna Packard and Emily Hayes.

Racquel Imler had seven service points, and Natalie Lippincott and Emma Harclerode had three service points for Bedford.

West Branch wins ICC

CLAYSBURG — Emma Morelock and Taylor Myers each tallied 11 kills for West Branch, which rolled to an Inter-County Conference championship with a 25-12, 25-14, 25-15 win over Everett Tuesday night at Claysburg-Kimmel High School.

Taylor Kalkey also registered 14 service points for the Lady Warriors.

BG sweeps

Lyzee Wilson recorded 19 kills and Emily Kasun added 11 service points and 44 assists to lead Bishop Guilfoyle past Hollidaysburg, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19 on senior night at the Pleasant Valley Gymnasium.

Teresa Haigh added 10 kills for the Lady Marauders while Raven Crisctello had 15 digs.

Bishop Guilfoyle (11-8), also honored Wilson for reaching 500 career kills and Kasun for reaching 800 career assists before the match, both reached in BG’s last outing.

Morgan O’Neill had a team-high six service points for Hollidaysburg.

Lady Eagles get ‘W’

CLEARFIELD — Ebonee Rice had 21 service points, five digs and six aces for Tyrone in a sweep of Clearfield, 25-14, 25-18, 25-14.

Reagan Irons and Piper Christine each had eight kills for the Lady Eagles while Mattie Cherry had 12 service points.

Brooke Claar added five Lady Dragon kills, and Laine Heuston had 21 digs.
