Altoona runners excel

Altoona runners captured first place at the Blair-Huntingdon Day Race held at Logan Elementary School.

Brayden Heninger finished first in the boys race with a time of 17:23 as the Mountain Lions had seven finish in the Top 10.

Hollidaysburg’s Chris Love placed second, Ian Imler was Tyrone’s top finisher at seventh, while Luke Knisely was 19th for Central, Caedon Poe was 24th for Bellwood-Antis, Coltin Cover was 26th for Bishop Guilfoyle, Garrett Nicewonger was 36th for Williamsburg and Matthew Musser was 45th for Juniata Valley.

Mackenie Kelley finished with a time of 21:01 to earn first-place in the girls race.

Ella Pearson led Tyrone with a third place finish, Maggie Greenland was fifth for Hollidaysburg, Morgan Hess was seventh for Juniata Valley, Maia Jeffries was 13th for Central, Ashley Yohn was 15th for Bellwood-Antis and Jaden Quinn was 22nd for BG.

Alex Lieb of Altoona claimed the middle school race with a time of 9:30, while Ella McCrum of Juniata Valley was the top middle school girls finisher as she placed in fifth place with a time of 9:52.
