PSU hoop fans can get NIT tickets now
BROOKLYN — The NIT Season Tip-Off returns to Barclays Center for a fifth-straight season Thanksgiving week, with Penn State, Mississippi, Oklahoma State and Syracuse participating in this year’s two-day event.
Tickets are on sale to the general public by calling 1-800-NITTANY or in person at the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket Office between the hours of 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The Nittany Lions play Mississippi at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, on ESPN2 and will meet either the Oklahoma State or Syracuse on Friday.
All available seat options are located in the Barclays Center lower bowl with tickets starting at just $27.50 per day, plus taxes and fees.
The Nittany Lions return leading scorer Lamar Stevens, who averaged 19.9 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game last season as a junior.
The Penn State section is located in front of Section 7 for the Nov. 27 game, and in front of Section 9 for the Nov. 29 game.
Friday’s third-place game will air at 7 p.m. on ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPNEWS, and the championship follows at 9 p.m. on ESPN2 or ESPNU.
SFU women on the road
MELBOURNE, Australia — The Saint Francis women’s basketball team recently played the second game of its Australia foreign tour on Monday against the Ringwood Hawks. Despite several good spurts, the Red Flash were outmatched by an older semi-professional team in an 82-36 defeat to Ringwood.
Haley Thomas led SFU with 10 points and nine rebounds, while Karson Swogger added nine points and five boards. Kayley Kovac had a career-high six points and two rebounds.
The Red Flash play again today against the Sunbury Jets in Melbourne. The team will then fly to Sydney on Wednesday to continue its 11-day tour.
