MEYERSDALE — The 2019 high school baseball season came to an end on Wednesday for Everett, which lost, 5-2, to Meyersdale in the District 5 2A semifinals.
Meyersdale, which will play Conemaugh Township in the finals, scored three times in the bottom of the sixth to break a 2-2 tie. The Warriors (12-6) were out-hit, 7-4, and both teams committed three errors each.
Meyersdale pitcher Matt Blubaugh limited Everett to four hits over seven innings. He gave up only one earned run, struck out one and did not walk a batter. In five-plus innings, Everett starter Trenten Mellott was charged with three earned runs on seven hits. He struck out seven and walked one.
Everett, which tied the game at 2-2 with a run in the fifth, got a solo RBI effort from Jared College. Meyersale was led by Reese Kennell with three hits and two RBIs.
Teammate Kirk Eberly added two RBIs.
