Servello, Grassi pitch Hollidaysburg to win

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Sam Servello struck out 10 and walked four, scattering four hits in leading Hollidaysburg to a 4-2 win over Philipsburg-Osceola Wednesday in high school baseball action.

Joey Grassi, who got the save, had two hits. Teammate Noah Gouchnour added two hits and drove in a run for the Tigers (9-6).

P-O (13-7) got back-to-back RBI doubles from Isaiah Dixon and Nathan Gutskey in the first inning.

The Rangers (14-3) scored two in the third for all they would need in beating the Panthers (1-19).

Josh Krise pitched 6ª innings with four strikeouts for the Panthers. Only three of the six runs he gave up were earned.

Adam Cecere had two hits and an RBI for the Rangers.

Two 20 Studios opened up play in the Area 4 VFW League with a 4-3 win over City Beverage in Juniata.

Parker Stampley had two hits and an RBI for the winners.

Nick Hogan struck out two in getting the win. Alexander Yost struck out seven in getting the loss.

Altoona Teener

Baron Dionis had two hits and two RBIs, and Drew Wyland and Tucker Rossman split pitching duties in ERA Sports’ 5-3 win over Eldorado Kiwanis in a late Altoona Teener League Lowey Division game from Tuesday night at Seitz Field.

Carter Sheehan also drove in two runs for ERA.

Wyland got the win with seven strikeouts for the winners while Rossman had five as ERA improved to 4-1. Kiwanis fell to 3-2.

PSU Altoona falters

CHAMBERSBURG — Penn State Altoona saw its season come to an end, when the No. 5 seeded Lions lost, 3-2, to No. 4 seed Wilson College in the first round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Championship Tournament.

Penn State Altoona finished its season at 28-17.

Peter Jacobs went 2-for-4 for Penn State Altoona with a triple and a run scored. Teammate Dylan Bates was also 2-for-4.

Catcher Cumming was 1-for-4 with a triple and a run batted in for the Lions, who had an early 1-0 lead.
