Claysburg blanks Glendale

FLINTON — Olivia Bushore struck out 12 and walked one batter, scattering four hits in Claysburg-Kimmel’s 4-0 shutout of Glendale in Inter-County Conference high school softball action on Wednesday.

Claysburg avenged an earlier loss to the Lady Vikings.

Haileigh Reed and Madison Knisley each drove in a run for the Lady Bulldogs, who scored twice in the fifth and twice in the seventh while taking advantage of three Glendale errors.

CRESSON — Chestnut Ridge scored six runs over the fifth and sixth inning to pull away from Penn Cambria.

Winning pitcher Kayla Diehl, Lydia Mock and Jamie Emerick each had two hits for the Lady Lions.

Casey Reese doubled, drove in a run and scored twice for the Lady Panthers.

MARION CENTER — Northern Cambria was up 4-1 after 2¢ innings but surrendered 10 combined runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings in a loss to Marion Center in Heritage Conference action.

Nicole Bearer was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored for the Lady Colts. Jasmine Hill went the distance for the Lady Stingers, striking out four to help shut out Northern Cambria over the final four innings.
