BG gets three all-stars

The Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School boys volleyball team had three players — Josh Welteroth, Connor Ebersole and Kai Kimberly named to the Mid-State Volleyball League All-Star team.

Also making the team were Huntingdon junior Andrew Cooper and sophomore Darin Harmin, and Central junior Sam Moyer.

BG out in first round

CORAOPOLIS — Bishop Guilfoyle was eliminated by the hosts in the first round of the playoffs, 25-15, at the Our Lady of Sacred Heart Tournament on Saturday.

In pool play, BG beat Central (25-18, 25-15), split with Thomas Jefferson (25-20, 20-25) and Baldwin (26-24, 23-25) and lost to Armstrong (19-25, 16-25).

The Marauders finished tied for fifth out of 11 teams.

Kimberly led BG with 63 assists and 13 digs to go with 23 digs and 22 kills from Welteroth. Ebersole added 33 kills and 12 digs to go with 12 kills from Nick Anderson and 12 digs from Bradyn Yahner.
