Tyrone edges Bearcats

HUNTINGDON — Tyrone scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to knock off Huntingdon, 8-6, in a Mountain League high school baseball game on Thursday.

Colson Lewis went 3-for-4 and scored three runs for the Golden Eagles, and Bryce Hunter drove in two runs.

Jackson Ritchey and Nick Gearhart each had three hits for Huntingdon.

MARTINSBURG — Noah Muthler had two of Central’s six hits in a loss to Bellefonte in the Mountain League.

The Dragons gave up four runs in the fourth and six in the sixth.

Seth Shuey was the winning pitcher for the Red Raiders and was also 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Nick Catallano was also 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. C.J. Funk and C.J. Lauk each hit homers for Bellefonte.

HOUTZDALE — R.J. Helsel went 5-for-5 with two RBIs to help Claysburg-Kimmel cruise past Moshannon Valley.

Connor Oakes delivered four hits and two RBIs, and Kyle Glass had three hits.

Corey Chamberlain struck out eight over six innings. Michael Kephart smacked a three-run homer for Mo Valley.

BELLWOOD — Bellwood-Antis out-slugged Mount Union, scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pick up a win in Inter-County Conference action.

Alex Schmoke and Joey Dorminy each had an RBI, and Mark Stewart got the win for the Blue Devils with two strikeouts.

Bellwood improved its record to 9-5. It was just the second loss for the Trojans this year in 13 games.
