TYRONE — Bryce Hunter led off with a walk in the bottom of the ninth inning, and Kevin Lehner’s sacrifice fly to left sent Hunter home with the game-winning run for Tyrone in a 3-2 win over Clearfield in Mountain League high school baseball Saturday.
Matt Savino and Rodney Shultz each had one RBI for Tyrone (7-0).
Portage nipped
JOHNSTOWN — Bishop McCort chipped away at Portage, which led 2-0 in the first inning, scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth to come back and beat the Mustangs, 3-2, in the first round of the Gene Schultz Tournament at Point Stadium in baseball action.
Jake Irvin and Jackson Kozlavac each drove in a run for Portage. Portage will face Westmont Hilltop in today’s consolation at noon.
Junior Lions go 0-2-2
DERRY — Altoona went 0-2-2 as part of the Derry Area Junior Varsity Boys Volleyball Invitational.
Altoona split matches in pool play with host Derry (25-23, 21-25) and Bishop Guilfoyle (25-23, 21-25) while losing to Montour (25-13, 25-18) and Shaler (25-13, 25-16).
