Claar helps C-K; Mulhollen hits milestone

BELLWOOD — Emily Claar went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored two runs in Claysburg-Kimmel’s 6-4 win over Bellwood-Antis in high school softball action on Tuesday.

Haley Schmidt was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for the Lady Devils.

Freshman Sierra Walters struck out four batters and got the win for the Lady Bulldogs.

HOUTZDALE — Lexi Mulhollen recorded her 1,000th hit as part of a three-hit, three-RBI day for Glendale in a three-inning shutout of Moshannon Valley.

Olivia Reese had four RBIs for the Lady Vikings, who improved to 8-1, while Alaney Vereshack, Brooke Smeal and Kyla Campbell each drove in two runs.

HUNTINGDON — Hollidaysburg picked up its first win, out-hitting Huntingdon, 16-8, en route to a victory.

The Lady Tigers (1-4) got three hits from Trinity Molliver to go with two each from Brynn Pfister, Maddie Coho, Madison McLanahan and Avery Matherne. Coho also homered.

Huntingdon (1-7), which trailed 5-1 after three innings, got two hits each from Lauren Heintzelman and Lauryn Smith, who also homered.
