LHAC all-conference teams picked

The Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference released its all-conference teams for this past fall in girls tennis, volleyball, boys and girls soccer, golf, football and boys and girls cross country.

In football, local teams represented were Bishop Guilfoyle with Daniel Potopa, Ben McCloskey, Bryant Speck and Michael McCall, Cambria Heights with Damon Maul, Chris Coover, Cody Gray and Logan Witt, Chestnut Ridge with Angel Snyder, Jacob Mowry, Dalton Seace and Brodie Harbaugh, Bedford with Brandon Dawson, Dylan Arnold, Elijah Cook and Steven Ressler, Penn Cambria with Derek Brown, Jacob Weigand, Marcus Wirfel and Luke Driskel and Central Cambria with Nick Knopp, Matt Gauden, Jon Croft and Dylan Long. The coach of the year was Richland’s Brandon Bailey.

In girls tennis, local players named to the team included Olivia Ratchford (Central Cambria), Victoria McElheny (Bishop Guilfoyle), Hannah Smith (Chestnut Ridge) and Emily Ruhlman (Bedford). Central Cambria’s Kim Cavalier was coach of the year.

In girls volleyball, local players named to the team included Maddie Murphy (Bishop Carroll), Jenna Bauer (Central Cambria), Gabby Krug (Bishop Guilfoyle), Mia McCarthy (Penn Cambria), Nikki McCombie (Cambria Heights), Lydia Mock (Chestnut Ridge) and Bedford’s Daphne Stayer. Central Cambria’s Jason Layman was voted coach of the year.

In girls soccer, local players named to the team included Jenna Brown and Amber Thomas (Bedford), McKenna Hayward and Jayden Sechrengost (Central Cambria), Aurielle Brunner and Daniella Scipioni (Bishop Guilfoyle), Emmy Harvey and Madison Piatak (Penn Cambria), Kayla Repko and Ellie Long (Bishop Carroll), Kelly Bassett and Emma Stockley (Cambria Heights) and Molly Reeder and Audrianna Barnes (Chestnut Ridge). Bedford’s Jeff Thomas was coach of the year.

In boys soccer, local players named to the team included Lance Dague and Wes Lippencott (Bedford), Alex Karlheim and Selvin Maykovich (Bishop Carroll), Brett Eckenrode and Brad Lieb (Cambria Heights), Andrew Miller and Mason Osman (Chestnut Ridge), Joseph Mastri and Cody Trusik (Penn Cambria), Dalton Baker and Jarrod Garzarelli (Central Cambria) and Ryne Talko and Adam Carey (Bishop Guilfoyle). Westmont Hilltop’s Jason Hughes was the coach of the year.

In girls cross country, local players named to the team include Leah Davidson (Bedford), Samantha Rosenberger (Bishop Carroll), Jaden Quinn (Bishop Guilfoyle), Quinn McElhenny (Cambria Heights), Paige Wess (Central Cambria) and Sydney Dignan (Penn Cambria). Central Cambria’s Randy Wilson was named coach of the year.

In boys cross country, local players named to the team include Garrett Cornell (Bedford), Isaac Repko (Bishop Carroll), Coltin Cover (Bishop Guilfoyle), Gabriel Sheridan (Cambria Heights), Ohm Vyas (Central Cambria) and Logan Michina (Penn Cambria). Again, Wilson was named coach of the year.

In golf, local players named to the team included Jared Turner (Bedford), Jacob Vasilko and Taylor Ostinowski (Bishop Carroll), John Fiore (Bishop Guilfoyle), Brian Walwro and Sadee LaRose (Central Cambria), Kyler Pennabaker (Chestnut Ridge) and Collin Reese and Kayla Ringler (Penn Cambria). Bishop McCort’s Derek Leach was coach of the year.
