Hollidaysburg celebrates senior night with ‘W’

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Eight seniors saw the pitch on Senior Night as Hollidaysburg shut out Derry Area, 5-0, Wednesday in boys high school soccer action.

Austin Merritts had four saves in net for the Tigers shutout. Ethan Pinter and Grant Glass each scored once and had an assist for Hollidaysburg, with the other goals coming from Drew Desort, Jacob Hollingshead and Shushant Dahal.

PATTON — Cambria Heights’ senior night was highlight by senior Clayton Nelen’s two goals as the Highlanders topped Richland in a Laurel Highands Conference matchup.

Nelen’s classmates, Jason Dobransky and Hunter Work, also netted goals for Cambria Heights, with Zach Galinis assisting on Work’s goal.

Bishop Guilfoyle goal keeper Zach Yingling totaled seven saves in a double-overtime, scoreless draw against Johnstown at Tom Irwin Field.

Johnstown’s Andrew Zierer had eight saves in goal for the Trojans, and his replacement, Bryce Thomas, had two saves after Zierer came out of the game before overtime began.
