McMullen, Kulasinsky capture Philipsburg Elks tournament

PHILIPSBURG — Ray McMullen and Joe Kulasinsky combined to shoot a 62 to win the Member Guest Tournament held recently at the Philipsburg Elks Lodge Country Club.

One stroke back, tied for second, were John Frank and Sam Irvin, along with Andy Reifer and Andrew Reifer. Rick and Noah Campomizzi followed with a 66 while Rob Bressler and Jim Kyler finished at 67. Paul and Carter Fischer rounded out the scores with a 68.

The derby winners were Art Weitoish and Lee Martell, while the round one net winners were Tom Rowley and Justin Dudarich (59). Ryan and Jeff Bender were the round two winners (56) while Mike Czap and Gary Helsel were the overall gross winners (133). The overall net winners were the Benders at 116.

In junior action. the Elks Championship was won by Halle Herrington, who finished first in the ladies gross division at 84. Katie Lingle won the net division (75). The boys gross division was won by Chad Frank at 78 while Jake Vaux won the net division (66).

Park Hills

Todd Homan finished with a 215 score to win the championship flight of the Park Hills Club Championship.

Patrick Miller was second (217), followed by Terry Burd (226).

Dave Elliott was the first flight winner at 144, while Andrew Consiglio won the second flight with a 129. The winner of the ladies flight was Barb Fiore at 71.

The team of Tim Balconi, Mike Corso, Bob Strawser and Tim Kimble shot a 54 to capture the title of the Becky Sheetz Classic.

Mitch Cooper, John Carnicella, Terry Carnicella aand Frank Shields took second with a 55.

Matt Hosband had the straightest drive, while Jody Dawson had the longest drive for the men and Ginger Glass for the women.

Closest to the pin winners were Mike Madden (No. 3), Dan Albright (No. 14) and Riu Knab (No. 16).

Robert Bilger, Thad Will, Rob Tyler and Mark Bates won putting contests.

During Wednesday morning’s senior league, the team of Bill Deremer, Pete Litzinger, John Grohol and Jim Beere shot a 15-under to claim first.

Second place went to Daryl Lanzendorfer, Paul Smith, Wayne Apple and John Bottenfield with an 8-under, while third place was captured by Bill Wolf, Joe Saclaro, Bill Dambeck and Blind Draw with a 7-under.

Cambria Hills

HASTINGS — Rick Rezk shot a 142 to win the championship flight of the Cambria Hills Golf Club Championship.

Scott Burkey was second with a 145.

The first flight winner was Neal Zumovitch (157) while Phil Beach took the second flight (155). Bob Parrish was the third-flight winner at 176.

Summit

CRESSON — Quintin Dziabo finished with a 145 to win the championship flight of the Stroke Play Club Championship held at the Summit Country Club.

Cody Trabert was second (148) while Keith Saleme and Brett Smith tied for third (149).

The first flight winner was John Dziabo (151) while Neil Rapski (158) won the second flight. Jim Smith took the third flight (167) while Denny Storm won the fourth flight (169).

Anita Jo Petrusky shot a 171 to win the women’s division club championship gross division, while Therese Perino was the net division winner (144).

In other action, Steve DeStefao won the gross division title in the Senior Club Championship. Dale Perino was second. Frank Szczechowicz wo the net division with Rufus Bex second.

John Dziabo won the gross division in the 57-64 age group wile Storm won the net division. Rapski won the 65-and-over gross division while Hop Burgoon captured the 65-and-over net division.

The winning team of Greg Facciani, Dave Bicko, Dan Olsavsky and Dave Kozak shot a 62 to win the Camp Sequanota Benefit Golf Outing. Finishing two strokes back in second was the team of Jim Hockensmith, Mike Blair, Preston Barr and Mike Porter.

Third-place honors went to the team of Doug and Myles Ream, Mike Fapore and Joe Crowley. Closest to the pin honors went to Kerry Horner (No. 4), Lenny Strihan (No. 8) and Facciani (No. 12).

Also, Andrew Ferguson shot a 73 to win the second annual Jack Calandra Junior Scholarship Invitational. Collin Reese was second (85) followed by Mason Baker (86).

Angel Trexler (116) won the girls division over Marlie Krug (131). The winner of the boys ages 14-15 division was Eric Spencer (78) over Gregory Caldwell (8).

Sylvan Hills

Curt Melton shot a low gross of 36 and Jim Seiler shot a low net of 20 as the top performers of week 15 from the Sylvan Hills golf club Thursday night league.

Bruce Baldwin shot the closest to pin, and Seier, Bucky Miller, and Lew Cessna took home the week’s skins.

Also, the team of Jim Brown, Lynn Durbin, Evie Monahan and Marian Monios won the Jack and Jill event over the team of Don Boland, Mary Jane Terza and Sheila Spangler. Finishing third was the team of Steve Downing, Dorothy Cavalet, Sandy Murphy and El Carnevle.

The winner of the Medal Play Club Championship was Joe Aungst Jr. Curt Melton took second. The low net winners were Dave Biseli and Mark Emery.

Scotch Valley

The team of Eric Glunt and Wes Elder shot a low gross of 64 and Aaron Harr and Jeff Friday combined for a low net of 53 to take first place at the Scotch Valley Country Club Mamber Guest Better Ball of Two tournament men’s division.

Michelle Day and Barb Fiore shot a low gross of 72 and Deb Stitt and Bonnie Deem had a low net of 52 to take first place in the ladies division.

Winners of this week’s skill prizes were Day, Steve Long, Mike Kelly, Christine Sears, Chuck Stitt, Rick McGrath, Jim Balzano, and Doug Swertzer.

In other action, the team of George Medairy, Phil Ferranti, Brian Snyder and Jack Wagner combined on a first place finish at the Sheetz Partner Days golf outing. Eric Foose, Mark Hvnayeutt and Ryan Uphouse took second, while Nate Beeerbower, Dave Distel, Michele Stone and Matt Hershey finished third.

The Keller Open was won by the team of Mark Condrin, Nick Gates, Doug Meyers and Mike Macionsky. Tim Balconi, Jim Kimble, Joe Zernell and Justin Kobuck were the second-place finishers.

Sinking Valley

The team of Chris Futrick, Steven Algeria, Charles Taylor and Bob Kelly shot a 44 to capture the Sinking Valley Country Club Gold Tees on Wednesday.

The closest to the pin winner were John Bernhart (No. 2), Mike McMillen (No. 8 and 10) and Larry Baker (No. 16).
