Gorski homer keys Curve win

HARRISBURG — A big offensive weapon was promoted to the Curve on Tuesday and made an immediate impact in his Double-A debut.

Matt Gorski hit a go-ahead three-run homer to lead Altoona to a 6-4 win over Harrisburg at FNB Field. Gorski hit 17 home runs in only 37 games at high-A Greensboro this season, and picked up right where he left off in his Curve debut.

Gorski, a second-round draft pick in 2019, belted his three-run homer in the fifth inning to give the Curve a 5-4 lead. Tucupita Marcano went 3-for-4 for Altoona.

Noe Toribio (3-1) struck out a career-high eight over five shutout innings of relief to earn the victory. He came on and dominated the Senators after starter Omar Cruz allowed four runs over four innings.

The Curve are now just two games below .500 at 19-21, and they’ve won five of their last seven.
