Curve’s Burrows keys victory
From Mirror reports
HARRISBURG — The surging Curve got early runs and an outstanding start from Mike Burrows to extend their winning streak to four Thursday night.
Burrows pitched a career-high seven shutout innings and struck out a season-high eight in the Curve’s 5-2 win over Harrisburg at FNB Field.
Burrows (3-0) lowered his ERA to 1.90 while allowing only two hits in helping his team get back to the .500 mark at 21-21.
Altoona scored five runs over the first three innings to give Burrows plenty of early support. Liover Peguero singled home two runs in the first inning, Matt Fraizer hit a solo homer in the second and Peguero homered in the fourth.
Peguero’s two hits raised his average to .329, and his two RBIs raised his team-high total to 29.
Fraizer and Connor Scott added two hits apiece for the Curve, who have won eight of their last 10 games.
