BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — The Curve powered to a fourth straight win, getting a lot of production from the top of the batting order and solid pitching in their second road game of the season.
Cal Mitchell belted a two-run homer in the first inning, and Oneil Cruz homered for the second straight day as the Curve pounded Binghamton, 7-2, Wednesday night at NYSEG Stadium.
Manager Miguel Perez said there was no reason to panic as the Curve started the season 0-3, and the club has shown why by winning four in a row.
There could be reason to panic, however, for Binghamton, because the Rumble Ponies are 0-7 right now.
A lot of eyes will be on Cruz this season, and the shortstop has delivered so far with homers the past two nights. He lifted a high fly ball in the fifth inning that kept carrying and went over the wall in right-center for a two-run shot.
Cruz went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, two walks and two runs and is batting .250.
Mitchell blasted his first homer, a two-run shot, to highlight a three-run Curve first inning.
Mason Martin went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and two runs, and he’s batting .286.

Cam Alldred (1-0) won in relief for the Curve, tossing 2ª scoreless innings.
