ERIE — A huge offensive night by Jared Oliva and another huge home run by Logan Hill carried the Curve to an extra-innings win Saturday night at Erie.

Oliva went 3-for-5 with five RBIs and drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th as Altoona downed the SeaWolves, 10-7, at UPMC Park. After Oliva gave the Curve the lead in the 10th, Hill followed with a two-run homer for some insurance.

The Curve are now 10 games over .500 for the first time this season.

Hill’s solo homer provided the only run in Altoona’s 1-0 win Friday night. The Curve won that game despite striking out a franchise-record 18 times.

The offense turned things around in a big way Saturday, though, getting production throughout the order. Jerrick Suiter went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer, while Mitchell Tolman went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run at the top of the order.

The Curve scored three runs in the first before Erie tied it in the second. It was a back-and-forth game all night, with Altoona grabbing a 7-4 lead, only to have the SeaWolves pull even with three in the sixth.

Reliever Jesus Liranzo (2-0) got the win for the Curve with two scoreless innings. Drew Carlton (1-3) took the loss for Erie.

Altoona starter Cody Bolton had another tough outing, giving up four runs on five hits over five innings.

The heralded prospect dominated at high-A Bradenton with a 1.61 ERA in 12 starts, but through three starts with the Curve, he has a 7.53 ERA.

With the win and Bowie having its six-game winning streak end Saturday, the Curve pulled within 2¢ games of the first-place Baysox in the Western Division.
