Covering the bases

LEADING OFF: The Curve were off Thursday and just finished a stretch that saw them play 16 out of 23 games on the road. Now they’ll play seven in a row at home, as well as 10 out of 13.

SAFE AT FIRST: Akron comes to town for four games, with tonight’s series opener set for 7 p.m. Starting pitchers for both clubs are TBD. The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday, making up a rainout from April 14.

STEALING SECOND: The Curve are just 11-14 at home and can improve on that during the upcoming stretch.

ROUNDING THIRD: The Curve are coming off a three-game sweep at Erie, which manager Michael Ryan called the best three-game stretch of the season for the club.

HEADING HOME: The Curve will recognize the 75th anniversary of D-Day tonight. The team will wear special D-Day jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game, with proceeds going to the James E. Van Zandt Medical Center.
