Levine, Nosek connect on BG’s overtime winner

FISHERTOWN — Gretta Levine scored on an assist from Rachel Nosek in overtime to lift Bishop Guilfoyle to a 4-3 Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference win over Chestnut Ridge on Monday night in high school girls soccer.

Maren Stayer opened the scoring for the Lady Marauders with the lone goal in the first half.

Lainey Farabaugh made it 2-0 BG before Ella McDonald and Audrianna Barnes found the back of the net for the Lady Lions to knot the score.

Auriella Brunner gave Guilfoyle the lead back before McDonald registered her second goal at the 17:00 mark to ultimately send the match into the overtime session.

The Nosek to Levine goal came off a corner kick with 9:00 on the clock.

MILL HALL — Altoona raced to a 6-0 lead at the break and that was enough to get the win against Central Mountain.

Cassie Kyle scored three goals for Altoona, while Katie Aveni had two goals and Darrian Berkheimer had two assists.

Julia Lane and Caranda Perea combined on the Lady Lion shutout.

BEDFORD — Bedford scored six goals in the opening half and five more in the second to blow out Cambria Heights in Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference play.

Katelyn Shaffer recorded a hat trick for the Lady Bisons and assisted on another.

Sydney Taracatac and Robyn Casalena accounted for a goal and three assists each, while Grace Sarver had two goals and Lindsay Mowry recorded the shutout in goal.

Kiley Horne, Lizzy Martz, Taylor Downs and Olivia Arnold netted one goal each for the Lady Bisons, now 5-0-1.
