Guilfoyle loses heartbreaker in overtime

JOHNSTOWN — Westmont-Hilltop’s Alexis Nudds scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime, to give the Lady Hilltoppers the edge over Bishop Guilfoyle, 4-3, in Laurel Highlands conference girls soccer action Wednesday.

Katherine Horner also netted two Westmont goals.

Aurielle Bruner had two goals for the Lady Marauders and Rachel Novak scored the equalizer to force the extra period.

BEDFORD — Bedford jumped out quickly with a 7-0 lead through one half and kept things up as the game progressed for a shutout of Richland.

Amber Thomas led the Lady Bisons attack with four goals and two assists. Robyn Cassalena and Abby Donaldson scored twice each. Lindsay Mowry had three saves in goal for Bedford.

Krysten Smith and Emma Harvey each had two first half goals, with Smith, Sydnie Reese and Taylor Rabatin all logging assists. The Lady Panthers final two goals were by Anna Smith and Sydnie Reese.
