Karlheim’s penalty kick propels Huskies to win over Highlanders

EBENSBURG — Alex Karlheim delivered on a penalty kick late in the second half to lift Bishop Carroll to a 2-1 win over Cambria Heights on Thursday in high school boys soccer action.

Karlheim scored once in the first half on a Jared Delauter assist to push the Huskies record to 12-5-1.

Brad Lieb scored the lone goal for Cambria Heights, which fell to 12-6.

Chase DeLong had a goal and two assists, while Lance Dague, Logan Rinehart and Nate Hoover netted one goal apiece for Bedford.

HUNTINGDON — Ashley Negley scored two goals in the last 22 minutes to break a 1-all tie and lift Central to its 15th win in 18 starts with a 3-1 Mountain League victory over visiting Huntingdon on Thursday in high school girls soccer.

Negley also assisted on Cassie Mock’s first-half goal, and Jenna Ritchey got an assist on Negley’s second tally. Mikaela Reed scored unassisted 16 minutes into the second half to tie the match for Huntingdon.

Sydney Routch scored the only goal the Lady Tigers would need, and then McKenna Hurd put home an insurance tally in the second half. Alyssa Bell and Mandy Bell had assists.

Tessa Switala scored the Lady Damsel’s final goal at 28:16 in the second half.

Northern Bedford’s Kaity Corl scored the Lady Panther’s lone goal.
