Miss Teen Pennsylvania International 2013 Ashlee Fagans of Duncansville recently spent the afternoon at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for storytime and arts and crafts with the children. Ashley is shown with Raeanna Paterson, the hospital school program coordinator, donating books to the hospital’s library. Ashlee also donated $400 to the hospital from money she raised from a bake sale this year for promoting her platform, pediatric cancer awareness. Ashlee is the daughter of Joe and Kim Fagans of Duncansville. She is a 2013 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School.

Fundraiser to help mission fund
DUDLEY - A prize fundraiser will be held at
2 p.m. Sunday at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m.
Tickets, which are $20, will be available at the door and include a sandwich and a side. Prizes include Temp-tations dishes, RADA cutlery, a 29-inch TV, a convection countertop oven, George Foreman grill, Farberware pans and a Keurig coffeemaker.

Center to host Earth Day films
HOLLIDAYSBURG - The Care for Creation Center at St. Bernardine's Monastery, 768 Monastery Road, will host two free films promoting Earth Day awareness.
"Chasing Ice," which is about polar ice, will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and "Genetic Roulette," which is about the health risks of GMOs, will be shown at 6:30 p.m. March 26.

ACM to offer financial aid info
EVERETT - Financial aid officials at Allegany College of Maryland will share their knowledge with Bedford County-area students and parents at the second annual Financial Aid Days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 26 on the Bedford County Campus of ACM, which is adjacent to Everett Area High School.
Graduating high school seniors and community members planning to enroll at the college for fall 2014 are encouraged to attend.
The event encourages students to take the first step toward financial aid by offering assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Participants should take income statements with them.
Financial Aid Days feature fun activities, food and beverages and random drawings for prizes in addition to valuable services to help students achieve their academic goals. A $200 tuition voucher will be presented by random drawing at the end of the event.
The activities, coordinated by ACM's Student Financial Aid Office in collaboration with multiple college departments, are in conjunction with initiatives nationwide to raise awareness of college affordability and to increase college participation by young people.
In addition to assistance with the application for financial aid, new students are invited to participate in a guided campus tour. Tours will be given at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Color Dash 5K event is March 29
Penn State Altoona's Campus Activities Board will hold its second annual Color Dash 5K Walk or Run on March 29.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the race will start at noon. Cost to participate is $20 for students and children under 12 and $25 for nonstudents. A race T-shirt is guaranteed with all registrations by Friday.
