Beverly B. Kitzinger, 82, Rockville, Md., passed peacefully Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late George H. and Kathryn Bowes and was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Joseph A. Kitzinger.
Surviving are five children: Michael D. (Kathleen), Beverly K. Esparza (Saul), Mark H. (Connie), Margaret K. Duffy (Kevin) and Patricia K. Inman (William); 14 grandchildren: Jacklyn Inman, Nicole McGuiney (Philip), Stephanie Peloquin (Matthew), Jessica Kitzinger, Emily Kitzinger, Tara Kitzinger, Adam Esparza (Aleah), Hannah Rippenger, Joe Kitzinger, Chelsea Duffy, Austin Duffy, Chris True, Erin Brady and Jackson Brady (Megan); six great-grandchildren: Ethan Esparza, Hunter True, Caelyn Cummings, Sierra Graef and Colin and Liam Brady; and a sister, Barbara B. DePauw (John).
Beverly was born and raised in Jersey Shore. She graduated from Lock Haven State College, where she met the love of her life, Joe. They married in 1943 and celebrated 59 beautiful years together. She began her teaching career in Pennsylvania before moving to Maryland, where she continued teaching for 27 years for Montgomery County Public Schools. She devoted her life to her family and the education of our youth.
Beverly was a lifelong member of the First Church of Science and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her home was a gathering place for family and friends to laugh and socialize. She loved gardening, playing games and being actively involved in the lives of her children. She will be remembered as a loving and gentle woman who always saw the good in everyone and who was loved by all.
Friends will be received from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home, 300 W. Montgomery Ave., Rockville, Md.
