TYRONE - Core Label LLC, a leading manufacturer of beverage labels, will expand at its current facility near here, adding at least 43 new jobs.
The announcement made Tuesday by Gov. Tom Corbett is the fifth jobs announcement in Blair County this year with the resulting total job creation for the county projected to be more than 140 new jobs.
"My administration continues to work with our local partners to bring new jobs to Pennsylvania - today we celebrate 43 new jobs coming to Blair County," Corbett said in a statement. "Core Label's expansion continues the momentum building in the Pennsylvania economy as businesses continue to grow and more Pennsylvanians are back at work."
The project was coordinated by the Governor's Action Team, a group of economic development professionals who work directly with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania, in collaboration with the Altoona-Blair County Development Corp.
Core Label will expand at its current site in Snyder Township. The company plans to invest more than $1.56 million on the expansion and will create a projected 43 jobs. The company currently has 50 employees at the site.

"The professionals at the Altoona-Blair County Development Corp. worked with the talented people from the Governor's Action Team to provide our company with much-needed assistance supporting our growth efforts."
The company received a funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development, including an $86,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant, $86,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits and a $40,000 Guaranteed Free Training grant to be used to train its new workforce.
Assistance also included a $700,000 low-interest loan from the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund to be repaid in 10 years.
